Meet the Peterloo Descendants

Robert’s 2 x great grandfather, Col Ralph Fletcher, was one of the Peterloo Magistrates.

Sue’s 3 x great grandfather, John Edward Taylor, was a journalist at Peterloo and brought the story back to London.

Tricia’s 2 x great grandfather, and Dan’s 3 x great grandfather, Isaac Entwistle, walked from Affetside in Bolton as a 15 year-old boy.

95-year old Sheila’s 3 x great grandfather, John Barnish, walked from Rochdale to St Peter’s Field.

Keith’s 3 x great-grandfather, John Stafford, plus his two brothers, sister and their father of Ashton-u-Lyne were at Peterloo. The brothers were severely injured.

We worked with a small team of brilliant creatives - Mat Johns, Judith Chan and MA student Joss Whitmore, to create this powerful and moving legacy to some of those present at the Peterloo Massacre and the impact on their modern day families.
