William Brookes, son to the last witness, examined by Mr. Hunt —Was at the meeting on the 16th of August; was in The Windmill public-house, when the carriage arrived. First saw Moorhouse in a long room at the back of the public-house, a few minutes after hearing the cheers on the arrival of the carriage. He (Moorhouse) came there and drank with witness, and remained there till the cavalry surrounded the hustings; Witness spoke to the peaceable conduct of the crowd. Saw no resistance offered to the soldiers.
