Join the British Council, in partnership with Manchester Histories at this exciting one-off event.
Featuring a ‘takeover’ of the gallery, we’ll be providing a space for families and young people in Greater Manchester to get involved with range of interactive sessions and hear from key note speakers including grassroots activists, campaigners and women in politics, spanning several generations.
It will be an opportunity for change-makers young and old to work alongside each other, inspiring shared learning to challenge gender stereotypes and help formulate ideas about what a ‘gender-sensitive’ political and citizenship education could look like.
Our event will focus on the question: What needs to happen over the next 10 years to make Greater Manchester a better place for women with a and girls to live, work and play?
Speakers include Greater Manchester MP Liz McInnes, Youth MP Sumayah Saadi, Mikayla Jones of UpRising and life-long campaigners Dolores Long and Rosetta Ceesay, among others.
Open to anyone aged 10+, the programme will run throughout the afternoon, with some sessions repeating, providing an opportunity for those of various ages to participate in a range of activities.
Please note that there will be a photographer documenting this event. If you do not wish to be photographed, please let a member of staff at the event know.
