CPD events for primary and secondary school teachers
Are you a teacher in a primary or secondary school in Greater Manchester?
Do you want to find out more about Peterloo, to gain access to FREE learning resources and to explore ideas for teaching Peterloo in your classroom?
The Peterloo 2019 project, in partnership with Historic Englands Heritage Schools programme has created a pack of free Peterloo History and Citizenship resources designed for KS2 – 4. Heritage Schools is delighted to invite you to one of a number of special CPD events in which we will showcase these resources. On the day, you will gain an overview of the events of Peterloo, you will find out about what is going on to mark the centenary and you will have the chance to look at the learning resources in detail. We will be on hand to help answer any questions you may have.
Peterloo involved men and women from across our region. The event symbolises public protest and the struggle for more rights for ordinary people. Many believe it was an incredibly significant event in the history of democracy. Studying Peterloo is a fantastic opportunity for your students to find out about a local event with important consequences for the region, nationally and even internationally, as well as exploring important themes such as rights and democracy.
