Soapbox- Alison Kershaw- All Saints Park - Manchester - 8th June 2018

Sat 22 Jun, 12pm

Free, no booking required.

Soapbox will transform Parliament Square in Oldham to create a Speakers Corner.

The line up will feature poets, writers, musicians and groups from Oldham Youth Council, Oldham Theatre Workshop and Mahdlo who have been working with writers from Manchester’s Young Identity to explore the themes of Protest, Democracy and Freedom. There will also be an open mic session from 1.30pm. The event will be compered by Young Identity performers.

In the current political climate the themes of protest, democracy, and freedom of speech are resonating around the world and Manchester Histories are offering you the opportunity to be part of this dialogue through your participation in our Peterloo 2019 programme.

Enormous thanks to our partners and funders
