Queer

Free, booking recommended.

Manchester Histories are proud to present Queer, a platform showcasing some of the ways that LGBT+ communities and their allies have stood strong for protest, democracy and freedom of speech.

Our panel includes:

Abigail Ward – DJ & Curator

Angela Cooper – Co-founder of the Manchester branch of the Gay Liberation Front (GLF)

Louise Wallwein – Poet & Playwright

Luchia Fitzgerald – LGBTQ Activist

Paul Fairweather – Manchester City Councillor, Lead Member for Gay Men’s Issues

We invite you to hear the story of Manchester’s Clause 28 protest march, the history of one of the most important queer publications in Manchester, discover how archivists and activists have been using historical material to share LGBT+ heritage and much more.

Enormous thanks to our partners and funders
