Peterloo The Story

Fri 28 Jun, 7.30pm – 10.30pm

Tickets: £5

Peterloo is a concert by The Free Radicals, a folk band and comprising Geoff Higginbottom, Bob Ashworth and Martin Gittins. The songs collectively tell the story of the Peterloo Massacre in Manchester on 16 August 1819.

This musical presentation traces the stories of those involved, the weavers, the Magistrates and the soldiers and the soldiers themselves from the growing unrest caused by the infamous Corn Laws to the aftermath, the retribution and the self-recrimination that followed.
