Death to Lloyd the traitor is an illustrated talk by the authors of Peterloo: Witnesses to a Massacre, a ‘verbatim’ graphic novel drawn entirely from the words of those who were there (www.peterloo.org). Find out about the little-known role both the Manchester clergy and the ‘Stockport fray’ played in the Peterloo massacre of 1819, the significance of the Cap of Liberty symbol, why Lloyd was so hated, and get a behind-the-scenes glimpse into how the graphic novel was created.
Stockport Libraries are working in partnership with Stockport Humanists to bring the authors of this important book to Stockport.
Copies of the graphic novel will be available to buy.
Light refreshments provided.
Accessible venue and toilet.
Close to both Stockport rail and bus stations.
