Amateur Radio

Sat 10 – 25 Aug 2019, 12pm

South Manchester Radio and Computing Club (SMRCC) will be running a Special Events Station to mark the bicentenary of the Peterloo Massacre. Special Events stations are issued unique call-signs by Ofcom and can be contacted by licensed Radio Amateurs around the world. Unique contact cards (known as QSL cards) are to be issued to to amateurs making contact with the station, the cards being illustrated with an image depicting the Peterloo Massacre and bearing the special event call-sign. These cards are avidly collected.

The event should spread knowledge of the Peterloo Massacre to a Global audience.

Enormous thanks to our partners and funders
